For this weekend Cooking, it was a simple Methi Dal with Knol Khol Kootu. A very simple side dish that you can serve with dal and rice. I know the consistency becomes think as I left it on the stove and forgot for a moment. However, taste-wise it was very good and that's what matters in the end.
It's been a hectic weekend as always and I actually went to the office and relaxed! I know that's bad but what to do when you have to work against things and cook so many for the next and next events that you plan. That reminds me that for the next BM I am yet to prepare. Hopefully, I should be able to do them on time.
When I plan, I leave you to read this simple recipe and enjoy it!

    Knol Khol Kootu

    Ingredients Needed

    Knol Khol / Kohlrabi - 2 small
    Chana Dal - 1/2 cup
    Coconut - 2 tbsp
    Green Chilies - 2
    Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp

    For tempering

    Curry leaves
    Oil 1 tsp
    Cumin seeds

    How to make the Kootu

Wash and peel the knol khol. Pressure cook with Channa dal for 3 -4 whistles, till the chana dal, is soft.

Grind the coconut, green chilies, cumin seeds to a smooth paste.

Once the pressure falls, remove the lid and add the ground masala to the vegetable and bring it to boil.

Meanwhile, heat the oil and temper with curry leaves and cumin seeds. Once it starts crackling, pour it on the boiling kootu.

    Serve with dal and rice
