    Mutton Chops Recipe

Lamb Chops are a delicious semi dry dish you can make for your weekend lunch menu.

Its been only offlate that Hubby Dear started getting this and kids simply love it. I have another recipe to make Mutton Chops Masala, which is again a favorite at home.

The time we made this, I managed to make a mini Non Veg Meat Thali with Mutton Chops, Mutton Liver, Mutton Pulusu along with Colour Rice.

    Ingredients

Spice Powder - We use dry roasted whole spice ground to powder to make enhance this dish.

Tomatoes - The sourness and balance comes from adding tomatoes to the dry dish. The gravy is cooked until the water evaporates and everything coats the chops well.

    Instructions

    For the Spice Powder

Dry roast the whole spices until aromatic. Cool it down and grind to a powder. Keep it aside.

    For Making the Chops

Wash and drain the mutton chops
Take the chops in a pressure cooker with a pinch of turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt. Pressure cooker for 2 whistles.
Once the pressure falls, heat a kadai with oil, add cinnamon, and clove.
Next, add the finely chopped onions, saute until the onions change colour.
Drain the water, you can add it later. Add the cooked chops and mix well. Let the chops get well cooked in oil for 5 mins on low flame.
Now add the ginger-garlic paste and combine.
Next add the turmeric powder, chopped tomatoes along red chili powder.

Cook on low flame and add salt after 5 minutes.
Now add the drained water and cook on high flame for 5 to 7 minutes.
Add the ground spice powder, keep stirring and allow the water to be evaporated. By now the masala is well coated and you will have dry chops.
Add chopped coriander leaves and serve as a side dish.

    Substitutions you can do

You can use Curds instead of Tomatoes if you don't have it.

You can also use Garam Masala, coriander powder. However, it will change the taste.
