  • 1/2 cup Semolina /Rava
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/4 cup Onions finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1 Green Chillies finely chopped
  • A Pinch Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to Taste
  • Handful Curry Leaves
  • Handful Coriander Leaves
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Urad Dal
  • 1/4 tsp Chana Dal
  • Handful Cashewnuts
  • 1 tbsp Curds / Yogurt
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Ghee


  • In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together and let it sit for 10 mins.
  • Grease two microwave safe mugs. Divide the mix and pour into the mugs.
  • Microwave for 30 secs. Remove and mix well. Again microwave for a minute.
  • Let it stand for few seconds, remove mix the upma and again microwave for 30 secs.
  • Once done, let it stand for 5 to 7 mins as it will be extremely hot.
  • Serve hot with chutney.
