For Pressure Cooking

  • 7 cups Carrots grated
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Water

For Final Cooking

  • 1/2 tin Condensed Milk
  • 1/4 cup Ghee
  • 5 to 6 Almonds


  • Wash and grate the carrots.
  • In a pressure cooker, take the grated carrots along with 1 cup sugar, 2 cups water. Pressure cook for 3 whistles. Once the pressure falls, remove the lid, and continue cooking on high for the water to evaporate.
  • When the carrots thicken, add 1/2 tin condensed milk and simmer.
  • In a small pan heat the ghee, and roast the chopped almonds. Add this to the carrot halwa.
  • Serve hot.
