Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 Ripe Bananas almost 1 cup
  • 2/3 cup Cooking Oil
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts chopped
  • 1.5 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • A Pinch Salt

Instructions

How to make the Banana Bread

  • Preheat the oven to 185 C.
  • Grease and flour your baking tray and have it ready. Tap to remove excess flour. I used a 6-inch Loaf tin.
  • Pulse the ripe bananas to a puree, transfer to a mixing bowl.
  • Add sugar, oil, vanilla essence, baking powder, baking soda and whisk well.
  • Let it sit for 5 mins, then add the wheat flour and mix in gently.
  • Finally, fold in the chopped walnuts and pat them down.
  • Bake for 30 to 40 mins at 185C or until the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Mine got done in 30 mins, I baked it further for 5 more mins and left it to rest for 15 mins.
