Heat a kadai with cooking oil, temper with mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves.
Saute well till they crackle.
Now, add the ground dal paste and cook on low flame, stirring well for the dal to get cooked.
Let it simmer for 5 mins for the dal to get cooked.
Now, add shredded cabbage and turmeric powder, combine well.
Add salt and continue cooking for another 5 to 7 mins.
When the cabbage is cooked well, add freshly grated coconut, mix well.
Serve as a side dish to rice. This can also be served with rotis.
