Jini Dosa ~ Spicy Cheese Dosa Mumbai Street Food

Jini Dosa is a popular street food from Mumbai made with regular dosa batter topped with veggies in a mix of sauces, finally topped with cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Dosa Batter
  • 1 /2 cup Onions
  • 1 /2 cup Carrots grated
  • 1 /4 cup Tomatoes finely chopped
  • 1/ 2 cup Potato
  • 2 to 3 tsp Schezwan Sauce
  • 2 tsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Sauce
  • 1 tsp Chat Masala Powder
  • Butter as required
  • Cooking Oil as required
  • Cheese grated as required

Instructions

Prep work

  • Have all the vegetables prepped and ready.
  • Grate the Cheese and have it aside. Or you can grate it directly over the dosa as it is done in the hotel.

Making the Dosa

  • Heat a nonstick tawa, when it hot enough, pour a ladleful of dosa batter and spread as a circular style as you regular do.
  • Sprinkle oil and cook on low flame.
  • When the top portion is slightly cooked, add all the vegetables, sauces and mixed completely well. Add butter and ensure you mix it well.
  • Once it's cooked for few minutes, spread it well over the dosa. Sprinkle the spice powder.
  • Add grated cheese over it or sprinkle it on top.
  • Fold the dosa over the filing and using a cutter slice into 3 to 4 inch pieces.
  • Serve with side dish.
