Ingredients

  • 4 Bread Slices
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • A pinch Cardamom
  • Mixed Nuts for garnish
  • Ghee/Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Take the sugar in a pan, add water and melt. Remove impurities if any.
  • Once again heat it to get one thread syrup. Simmer while you get the bread toasted.
  • Trim the edges from the bread slices and cut them into two across to get triangles.
  • Heat ghee/oil in a kadai/pan and deep fry the bread pieces till crisp and golden brown evenly.
  • If you want to avoid deep-frying, you can toast it with ghee on a hot pan on a low flame.
  • Drain them on kitchen towels and keep them aside.
  • When ready to make the bread sweet, dip the fried bread slices in the hot syrup for a few seconds and take them out.
  • Arrange them on a plate and sprinkle the chopped nuts on top.
  • Serve hot or cool.
