Take the sugar in a pan, add water and melt. Remove impurities if any.
Once again heat it to get one thread syrup. Simmer while you get the bread toasted.
Trim the edges from the bread slices and cut them into two across to get triangles.
Heat ghee/oil in a kadai/pan and deep fry the bread pieces till crisp and golden brown evenly.
If you want to avoid deep-frying, you can toast it with ghee on a hot pan on a low flame.
Drain them on kitchen towels and keep them aside.
When ready to make the bread sweet, dip the fried bread slices in the hot syrup for a few seconds and take them out.
Arrange them on a plate and sprinkle the chopped nuts on top.
Serve hot or cool.
