Sweet Wheat Banana Dosa

Course Breakfast, Dinner
Cuisine Tamil Nadu
By Cook Method Stovetop
By Diet Vegetarian
Dish Type Dosa Varieties
Author Srivalli

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Wheat flour
  • 2 to 3 tsp Sugar
  • 1 cup Banana Ripe and mashed
  • 1 to 2 cups Milk as required to blend the batter
  • Cooking Oil as required for cooking
  • Ghee as required for cooking

Instructions

  • Pulse or blend the bananas till you get a smooth puree. Add this to the wheat flour along with sugar and mix well.
  • Add the milk slowly to make a dropping consistency of the batter. Let it sit for 10 mins.
  • Get a tawa heated up, make sure it is seasoned well if you are using an iron griddle. Else nonstick pan works best for this.
  • With this batter, you got to be really quick and most case, pouring this as the regular dosa will not work.
  • So you will have to pour a ladleful as a circle and quickly spread it as dosa. Sprinkle oil/ghee on the sides and cook on both sides.

Notes

The batter gets sticky and the batter gets cooked very fast. So always cook over a medium - low flame.
I have always noticed that as we cook on, the tawa gets seasoned and you end up making good ones towards the end. So a nonstick tawa is always best for this.
I have given the scaled down recipe of the original recipe.
