Dal Tadka Restaurant Style is a simple and easy dal made in a restaurant that we can make in minutes in our kitchen and one of the most popular versions of dals.

When I picked up North Indian Thali to make at home, I needed a Dal that I had to add. Since I have made most of the dals that are popular and even the Dal Tadka Fry, which I came to know from a restaurant chef, I asked Vaishali if she can suggest another one.

So she shared the recipe of Dal Tadka that was made in her restaurant. The dal is very easy and simple to make, yet tastes great with rice and roti as well.

Planning for a thali is quite a tough task as you have to have dishes that complement each other and at the same time, get done quickly. I would highly recommend this dal on all counts!

We are starting BM#88, Week 3, where I will be sharing some Dazzling Dals.

When I had this theme, I had in mind the Dal that is then dried, split pulses. Pulses include lentils, peas, and beans. In these daals, the outer hull is usually stripped off. The dal that has not been hulled is described as chilka (skin), e.g. chilka urad dal, mung dal chilka.

The thali has delicious dishes like Makhmali Paneer, Gulab Phirni

Other dals you can try - Lasooni Moong Dal Tadka, Char Dal Tadka, Masoor Dal Tadka, Tadka Dal

    Finally, add lemon juice,

Though I read about variety of dal recipes, I stick to the traditional one which mom made. After looking at all the recipes of dazzling dals this month, even I am tempted to try other recipes. This dal fry sounds like an easy recipe to start with.

A comforting bowl of Dal. Even we add green chillies in the way you have added, easier for the kids to remove.

Few simple ingredients can change the taste of a simple dish. Garam masala, kasuri methi make this dal extra special. The whole thali looks very inviting.
