    Peas Potato Curry ~ Easy Dinner Ideas

    Peas Potato Curry is yet another easy to make side dish for rotis and especially when you are busy to plan much ahead, this is one simple one to make.

    When Peas are fresh in the season, this is one of the sabzis that is often made. Of course, each time I make it differently and this time I decided to click the step by step pictures as well. However, just when I think I must plan well for the final click, I find it difficult and end up clicking the simple one on the countertop.

    This time I add kasuri methi and butter and the final gravy turned out yummy! For the BM#96, Week 1, I am sharing easy to make dinner ideas. These days our dinner is a mix of Rotis, Idlis and Dosas.

    Gravies like this is surely a wonderful one to make.

    Peas Potato Curry

    Ingredients Needed:

    1 cup Peas
    1 cup Potato
    2 to 3 cloves Garlic crushed
    1 cup Onions finely chopped
    1.5 cups Tomato finely chopped
    10 nos Cashewnuts
    Salt to taste
    A Pinch Turmeric Powder
    1 tsp Red Chili Powder
    1 tsp Coriander Powder
    1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
    2 tsp Cooking Oil
    1 tbsp Butter
    2 tsp Kasuri Methi

    How to make Peas Potato Curry

    Wash and slash the potatoes on all sides and microwave for 4 to 5 mins. Soak in water and peel the skin.
    Wash and microwave the fresh peas for 5 mins. Keep it aside.
    Heat the oil in a nonstick pan, add the crushed garlic and saute well.
    Next, add the finely chopped onions and saute till it changes colour.
    Meanwhile, make a puree of tomato with cashew nuts.
    Add this smooth paste to the onions and then bring to boil.
    Add the salt and turmeric powder and boiled peas.
    Bring to a boil and combine well.
    Now add all the spice powders and combine well.
    Add the boiled cubed potato and mix well.
    Add water as required along with Kasuri methi and butter.
    Simmer till the gravy thickens.
    Serve with Rotis.

      Peas and potato, both are made for each other, they works awesome in anything. Such a fingerlicking curry there. Love these sort of side dish to have with rotis.

      This peas and potato curry is awesome , we make it regularly , though I do not use cashews in routine curries , they are restricted to only party dishes .
      Kasoori methi is my favourite , gives a unique and awesome flavour to the dishes .

      Wow, wow! I just want to grab that platter Valli. Potatoes and peas are such an amazing combo and the addition of cashews, Kasuri methi and butter would make it flavourful as well as rich.

      This is one of our everyday meal, love to have this with chapatis or steamed rice!! You pic is tempting me to take a bite from the chapati and have it with the subzi!! Also I liked the addition of cashews in masala, I make the onion tomato masala without cashews.
