For the second day of Instant Breakfasts, I have another quick dosa that was really so fast and easy to make. With the rains falling nonstop, and power fluctuation, we ran out of our Dosa batter and I had to resort to this quick breakfast.
While I mostly imagine a situation for some themes, I ended up making use of the theme to the maximum. I have another traditional Rava Dosa that we make. That is also quite instant. This version is much quicker.
Come, Join us for Breakfast with this delicious Instant Rava Dosa

Recipe
Instant Rava Dosa
Servings 2 people
Ingredients
For the Batter
- 1 cup Semolina /Rava
- 1/2 cup Rice Flour
- 3/4 cup Buttermilk
- Salt to taste
- Cooking Oil as required
- Ghee as required
- Water as required to make thin batter
Seasoning
- 1 medium Onions
- Curry Leaves handful
- 2 nos Green Chilies
- Cashew Nuts handful
Instructions
- In a bowl, take the rava and rice flour together. Add the buttermilk and mix well. Add salt, rest of the ingredients and mix well. Let it rest for 15 - 20 mins.
- Heat a tawa till it is hot, simmer. Take a ladleful of rava batter and pour on the tawa in a circular movement. Spread it as a regular dosa, once the batter is poured as a circle. We will not be able to spread this as the regular dosa. Sprinkle oil or ghee. Once its cooked on the bottom, flip it to the other side.
- The batter should be really thin, the moment the batter touches the hot pan, pores will be formed. That way you know you have the right consistency. Cook on both sides and serve with coconut chutney!
