Rajasthani Thali is a simple and delicious thali you can put together with just basic ingredients that you have. Because of the climatic conditions and the availability of ingredients in the state, food that could last for several days and could be eaten without heating was preferred. The scarcity of water and fresh green vegetables further influenced the cooking.

Some of the popular dishes revolve around Besan/ Gram Flour and Gatte tops the list. Since I have previously cooked a Rajasthani Meal, that sad needs a redo post, I had to pick new dishes. I again consulted Vaishali for ideas and ended up picking the majority from what she has already shared.

Since I had picked up Sunday as the day for these thalis, it was only the elders at home and I fed everybody before I could plate and click pictures. These days I eat later so that nobody is kept hungry and I make a plate that will be clicked and I enjoy it later. So in all that hurry and preoccupation, I didn't realize that I ought to change the sheet and use the same one as yesterday, and yes I have kept it for day 3 too.

In all possibilities, nobody will be able to quickly differentiate unless they look at the pictures properly.

Anyway coming to the menu, I picked one dish for each category and it was more than filling.

Haha, you know what, earlier I saw this post in my fb newsfeed and assumed it was yesterday's link showing up again in my newsfeed. It as the same background and thali looked the same. Didn't pay much attention to the post title. Regardless, that is a fabulous spread of food.

I have always loved Rajasthani Cuisine and this is one of my favourite menus . Everything on the plate looks fabulous , kudos for doing it all in one go , it definitely takes a lot of effort . I am sure by the end of it you must have forgotten to change the background . Never mind , the dishes are different .

That is a fantastic platter. Wondering how much time did you need to make this thali. As Usha mentioned, I also got confused for a moment if you got mixed up with the pictures 🙂

I will go crazy by the end of it and my sweet dishes will turn savory and savory ones sweet 🙂 🙂 Kudos to your efforts -- that is one delicious Rajasthani thali. I've yet to try Paneer ke gatte and aam ki launji - added them to my to-make list -- hopefully will try them soon. Oh, that malpua in the corner is literally calling my name 🙂
