Instant Spicy Vegetable Oats Dosa is an easy instant breakfast and healthy breakfast dish made with oats, rice flour, Rava, and vegetables. It only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get all the ingredients ready to make the dosas.

We are starting the BM#82 week 3 and I will share some Crepes for all time. Actually, when I thought of this theme, I only had Crepes as in from France. However, when my friends wanted to confirm if they can share pancakes, dosas, etc, I thought why not make it board and give everybody a chance to try their own choice.

Then I completely forgot and wasn't prepared as well. I saw that the first two weeks were all about our Indian Dosa and only a handful of crepes came about. That's when I decided that I might end up making Indian Crepe or Dosas as well!

It's like this, time seems to be running very tight, and hardly anytime to plan a new thing or experiment. The known dish and the variety in it are much better than a new one and not having a backup plan. So it was to be Dosas. I guess many know of my love for Dosas and my ambition to have 101 Dosa Variety. I have almost covered more than that between my two blogs.

Today's version is with Oats and it's an instant version, so this Instant Spicy Vegetable Oats Dosa is a diabetic-friendly, though I do use a small amount of rice flour in it. Since even 1 dosa makes it very filling, I decided it can be served as a diabetic-friendly breakfast dish.

How to make the Instant Spicy Vegetable Oats Dosa

Heat a nonstick pan and dry roast oats till well-roasted Takes about few minutes. Allow to cool down.
Pulse the roasted oats in a mixer to get a fine powder.
Add rice flour, Rava along with salt and cooking soda.
Heat the pan again with few drops of oil and saute the finely chopped onions.
Add finely chopped green chilies, cumin seeds, and the roasted onions to the oats mixture and mix well.
Now slowly add water and make a thin batter.
Heat a dosa tawa and grease with few drops of oil
Pour a ladleful of batter and quickly spread to make like your regular dosa.
Drizzle oil over the dosa and flip to the other side to cook. Takes about 1 to 2 minutes to make a dosa.
    Serve with Coconut Chutney.

    Notes

If the tawa is very hot, this Instant Spicy Vegetable Oats Dosa will not spread properly.
To get crispy dosas, the batter should be on the thinner side.
If you use a pan with raised sides, you can easily pour and circle the pan to get the batter spread all over. This way you can get crispy, thin crepes.

Valli maybe we can have a dosa theme and we would have so many more varieties. Oats dosa is something I had tried long tine back and forgot completely about it. Your post is right on time to remind me to make those again.
