Bread Halwa or Double Ka Meetha is a sinful sweet, popular across all Indian States, though it is well known from Andhra Pradesh. This is best done with leftover bread slices.
The bread slices are ground to crumbs and roasted in ghee and then cooked in milk. We were expecting a pudding consistency, while it absorbed the milk and got thicken as halwa. So I am calling this Halwa and even then Amma said she was thinking of Double Ka Meetha and this was just right. I have previously posted another version of Double ka Meetha and while that tastes so good, this version got excellent reviews from everybody who tasted this.
I am wrapping this theme with this sweet and I hope my friends will forgive me for the overlook and still enjoy this sweet. Hope to do a better act next week.
