This Detox Drink made with cucumber, mint, and amla, is a refreshing drink that you can sip through the day. It really helps you detox your body.

    Detox Drink

For the second day of the Detox Diet, I have a refreshing drink to enjoy throughout the day. My Dietician suggested this Detox Drink when she wrote down my daily diet. Previously she used to suggest Fresh Tomato Juice and later with the concept of Detox Diet catching up, I guess she upgraded her list as well. A simple and easy to make a drink with all cut fresh cucumber, alma, ginger, mint leaves. You could add a small lemon wedge as well. The idea was to fill up a one-liter water bottle and add all finely chopped cucumber, mint, a tiny ginger piece, and amla.

You have to leave it soaking on your table and keep taking a sip throughout the day. When you start sipping the drink, you are supposed to chew on the cut pieces and eat as well.

End of the day, the water has all the flavours that has steeped in and tastes very different. It surely takes a couple of days to get used to it. However, I did feel very refreshing drinking this water.

I didn't chop the vegetables for picture sake. In the actual drink we chop everything very finely so that you can eat it as such. If you are looking for a healthy option for the Detox diet, check out this Breakfast Oatmeal. Since we are on the topic of Indian Diet Recipes, this Cabbage soup and the Sprouts Salad worked out very well.

Amla is a huge favorite of my mom. She keeps pressure cooking it and force feeding us. I think I will it better this way. The drink looks so refreshing ...must be a good pick-up for our hectic days!

Is it advisable to blend all the ingredients and drink as juice

Since this is a detox drink, only the infused water is consumed. However, if you want to blend and drink, there is no harm. But I am not sure if blended juice works as a detox
