Today marks the final day of our Bake-a-thon adventure, that I took upon along with my friends. We posted 14 different bakes during this month of December. It was so wonderful catching up with all the different bakes that my friends came up with.
Though I wanted to start the Bake-a-thon with a list, it never happened. However, I was clear that I should attempt at making basic versions of the regular stuff, along with some bread. I was happy that I managed to make some very good cakes versions. Some of them are real treasures. I hope I will have time to repeat those cakes again.
Konda always complains that I never repeat her favorite dishes again. For one, she loves all my dishes, so decided to repeat the best, becomes tough and second life is too short and time simply flies for us to keep repeating things, is what I tell her, on hearing her say that!
Anyway even after starting Cookbook challenge, my files are not even glanced through the first few pages. So hoping I will be able to make more.
Ending this Bake-a-thon with a sinfully delicious, melt in the mouth, dark chocolate cookies, made with whole wheat and almost ghee. The recipe is adapted from Yahoo recipes section.
    Whole Wheat Chocolate Cookies
    Ingredients Needed
Whole wheat flour / Multigrain Atta - 3/4 cup
    Cocoa powder - 2 -3 tbsp
    Salt a pinch
    Granulated sugar - 1/2 cup
    Unsalted Butter - 1/2 cup
    How to make the Cookies
Take the flours and cocoa powder, sift well and keep it aside.
Heat butter on low flame and cook till it changes colour. Turn off and let it cool completely. It smells so wonderful, almost like the aroma that comes during ghee making.
Add the sugar and cream it well. Then add the flour and mix.
Knead to a soft dough. Roll like a log and cover with a cling film and freeze for 5 -7 mins. Cut into slices.
Preheated the oven at 170 C. Place the sliced cookies on a baking tray and bake for 15 - 20 mins.
Cool for 30 mins. Completely cool before storing.

Wow, these cookies look just perfect. You are so right about unable to repeat the recipes. My husband started complaining too recently about not making dishes that I used to make before 🙁
