South Indian Cuisine is rich for its various chutneys that get prepared for various dishes. The tiffin chutneys that serve both the breakfast or dinner are simple and quick to make.
Today's chutney is prepared with Dry Red chillies along with coconut and is an excellent side dish to be served for the Instant Tomato Dosa. In the rush morning hours, having a simple chutney to make really helps.
Recipe
Red Chili Coconut Chutney
Ingredients
For the Chutney
- 1/2 cup Coconut grated
- 3 to 4 Dry Red Chillies
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Tamarind extract
- 1 tsp Onions
For Tempering
- 1 tsp Cooking Oil
- Curry Leaves handful
- 1/4 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Urad dal
Instructions
- Wash and chop the coconut into small pieces. Or you could even use grated coconut.
- Take all the ingredients in a mixer and blend to a fine paste.
- Temper with oil, curry leaves, mustard, and urad dal.
- Serve as side dish for Dosas
