Baked Sweet Potato Wedges is a healthy option to indulge for evening snacks if you are craving for a quick bite. These hardly consume oil or time to get done.

For the second day of cooking with Root Vegetable, its another baked dish. Sweet Potatoes are something I love eating just boiled and as a kid, mixed with loads of sugar.

Now I have passed the stage of wanting to eat this with sugar and can just enjoy the boiled vegetable as such. Recently while shopping, Hubby dear saw these and reminded me that its been a long time since we had this and we picked up few.

We enjoyed some as boiled for snack and rest was still chilling out. It was my luck that I remembered these and thought I should make something with it. That's when I saw this baked wedges from Gayathri in Instagram.

    Roasted Sweet Potatoes

I don't think I have enjoyed other social media as much as I have been enjoying playing around on Instagram. It's a simple picture share and I never bother about linking to the original recipe or so. While I have been so obsessed with Menu planning and have crossed over 3K recipes, only my Instagram account says how much I repeat the dishes over the week! My family seems to be obsessed with the same kind of dishes off-late.

Anyway, these wedges were something I had to make. I south Indianised the wedges by spicing them with Sambar podi. There is that saying about removing the person from a place, yet never remove the place from the person. Though this is not apt, it’s something of the same case. I do end up using sambar podi for quite some dishes apart from, you guessed it right, Sambar!

Enjoy these wedges with a cuppa!

That is true. Some spices are so versatile that it can be sprinkled on pretty much everything. For me it is garlic crushed with chili powder. Anyway, sweet potato chips look great and a healthier version than the deep fried wedges.

I use sambar powder generously on other dieshes as well. I guess it complements well with the sweetness of the vegetable.
