Jini Dosa is popular street food from Mumbai made with regular dosa batter, topped with veggies, and a mix of sauces, finally topped with cheese.

This is supposed to be one of the most popular dishes to try from Mumbai Street Foods. When I was doing the AtoZ International Street Food during April, I read about this dish and ever since been wanting to make it.

So when I was making this list, I decided I was going to make this. I set out to watch the many videos available. Each vendor seems to a version different from the other. Though the common ingredients seem to be a mix of veggies cooked directly over the dosa, in a sauce of schezwan sauce. Tomato sauce, chili sauce, etc with loads of cheese on top.

One thing was that this dosa is made using regular dosa batter, you only have to plan the veggies and sauces.

I made it for Konda’s dinner along with another letter that also needed only dosa batter. Both the varieties were too good. The other version was super duper hit, while she fine with this too. Since this dosa is served as rolls, I got to eat it as well and felt it was good, especially with loads of cheese over it.

So for J, I have Jini Dosa in the AtoZ Flatbread and More, where I am doing AtoZ Dosa Varieties. If you are curious about J in AtoZ Indian Flatbreads, I have an interesting dish, do check it out!

I remember seeing this on insta videos. The vendors seem to do it very easily, the cooking on the dosa itself part. Need to try this version for my daughter. With that amount of cheese inside I am sure she would love it..

Wow! So now there is another interesting thing I can do with dosa batter in addition to making uttapam. Though my kids love uttapam and dosa both, but this Jini dosa having cheese I'm sure will be their ultimate choice. I'm yet curious about its name....Jini dosa 🙂

In Mumbai you can literally find any fusion and many a times many dishes are loaded with cheese and this dosa is a good Fusion of South India and Indo chinese version. Looks yum.

I remember watching a video of this dosa and was wondering how it would taste if we made it at home, especially skeptic about cooking the veggies over the dosa on the tawa! Yours have turned out so good and am tempted to try it here.Super pick for J
