Thakkali Upma is an easy and healthy dish that you can make for breakfast or dinner and makes a wholesome meal anytime. This Tomato Upma makes a change from your regular upma.
Though we frequently make either upma or Khichdi almost every other Saturday, I haven't made this tomato upma for a while. The first time I heard somebody talk so highly of this was when I was visiting my SIL and met their friend. She was making the Mutton Biryani for us and during our visit, she was talking about her husband's likes and mentioned that Tomato Upma was his favourite.
When I decided to do Make a dish in different appliances, I remembered that I haven't blogged this Upma and cooked this on the stovetop. This is part of the BM#83 week 3 under Make a dish in different Appliances. Today's version is made on the stovetop and hopefully, I will make the rest soon.

Why didn't I think of upma when planning for this theme? I can guess the second appliance as I do use this appliance when I am lazy to cook for myself. I am more curious about what your third one is going to be

That will be a great dish to make in 3 different appliances. I hate upma, but make it quite often for the ease of cooking. My mother always made her rava upma with tomato.

We totally love it. I had never made tomato upma just until the other day and it was over before I realized that I don't have it on the blog 🙂 So I am definitely going to make it more often. Wondering about what appliances you are going to use.
