Goan cuisine is popular for its Xacuti Chicken Gravy. The Xacuti Masala Powder is the spice powder that makes this chicken gravy special. However, the spice powder can be used in a variety of dishes as well.
I had thought of using Xacuti Curry Powder for making a paratha and knew for the next series on AtoZ, this spice powder will be used.
Last time I used a different Xacuti Curry Powder to make the Xacuti Aloo Stuffed Paratha and Xacuti Masala Dosa, this time I came across a couple of different spice blends and decided to combine to make my own version and cooked up a Xacuti Paneer Coconut Biryani and Xacuti Masala Rice in the AtoZ Biryani, Pulao and Khichdi Festival this April.
Both the rice dishes came out really so well and we enjoyed it much. I still have some this Masala powder left and I will be experimenting soon.
This spice Powder that I am sharing today doesn't have coconut in it as I was making a Coconut Pulao as the base for both the dishes. However, Goan Xacuti Masala features coconut predominantly and you should include that in the spice powder if you are not making coconut pulao as the base.
We are doing BM#101, Week 2 where I am sharing Condiments. For more fusion ideas using Xacuti Masala, read this Xacuti Gobi Pakora

Step By Step Pictures to make Xacuti Masala Powder
Ingredients Used in Making this Masala Powder
Coconut is an important ingredient in making this Goan Xacuti Masala.
If the dish calls for a lot of coconuts, you can ignore this spice powder
Roast the ingredients slowly on the hot pan and allow to cool before grinding to a fine powder.
Since you will end up stocking this spice powder, take care to make it dry.

Never thought of using xacuti powder in other dishes. Nice idea. Last time I made xacuti chicken I used a paste. Xacuti spice powder sounds like a better alternative to paste.
