Nothing like simple things that give us immense joy and that applies to this Margherita Pizza Recipe! This Homemade Classic Pizza Margherita is made with simple ingredients like mozzarella cheese with homemade tomato sauce.
Make this for your next pizza party or weekend night or with this easy recipe you can make it for your weeknight pizza dinner as well!
The classic version includes mozzarella and parmesan cheese with tomato sauce and fresh basil. There are versions that include tomato slices as well. However, let's keep it as simple as possible.
I have different Pizza dough recipes, yet tried a different one this time, while planning for the Pizza party.
If you want to avoid all-purpose flour, you can make this Whole Wheat Pizza Crust with homemade Pizza Sauce. If you are in a hurry to get the dough done, then this 30 min Pizza dough works out best!
No yeast? No worries, you can make this No Yeast Pizza too, Or want to make it with Naan or Kulcha, then this Kulcha Pizza is yummy!
Why is this called Pizza Margherita? Is it same as Cheese Pizza?
Well, an authentic Pizza Margherita has a tomato sauce on the base. They spread with either a slice of mozzarella or grated. We can also add Parmesan cheese on top. Some say the authentic version has tomato slices, sliced mozzarella, basil, and extra-virgin olive oil drizzled on top.
I couldn't lay my hands on fresh basil so used dried basil on top. When I planned for the Pizza Party for the Thali BM, Margharita Pizza had to be included. It's Konda's favorite pizza and every time we order from Dominos, she orders one exclusive for herself.
It is only natural that I include this as part of the menu. Pizza Party is a total hit and my kids still keep asking me to repeat it again. After the Mega Thali Party, I have repeated it twice during last year's lockdown. It was extremely tough getting the cheese, I managed it somehow though.
This Margherita Pizza is my choice for A to Z Easy Family Dinner Ideas. With little preparation, you can easily make it for your weeknight dinner as well!
