Yellina Chitranna is our humble lemon rice all decked up. This easy lemon rice is made more interesting with roasted spice powder.

I was inspired by Suma's post on Yellina Chitranna. Yellu is sesame seeds in Kannada and Lemon Rice is called Chitranna, so this simple rice is made more interesting with the roasted sesame powder, urad dal, and grated coconut. It surely makes a wonderful lunch box dish.

As always the month has simply breezed us by and we are on the penultimate post and what a month it's been! I am so happy I have finally managed to cook all the dishes I had planned.

This delicious mixed rice was part of the Saturday lunch I made with Ellu Sadam, Urad Dal Rice. This was the first of the series where I had done multiple dishes and it really gave me the confidence that I could really plan multiple dishes and yes I did this for 3 to 4 dishes later on in the month.
